They are the world leader in the development, manufacture and sale of analytical instruments for absolute macromolecular characterization. Their light scattering instruments (DLS and MALS) are used by chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, and biotech companies as well as government and academic institutes. We are seeking an experienced capital equipment sales rep that can continue to grow and develop their business in this region
Experience: A BS in the Life Sciences with 3-5 years capital equipment sales experience and a background in HPLC, LCMS, particle technology, SEC, preferred.
Location: MD-DC Area; Territory covers DE, VA, MD-DC
Pay Range: Base to 100k with incentive potential to double the base. Realistic first year 150-175k

U.S. Sales Manager - Lyophilization

Description: My client is one of the world's foremost lyophilization specialists.They sell, service and support benchtop, pilot and production lyophilzers, lyophilization analytic instrumentation, provide analytic and process development consultancy and services and carry out training in all aspects of lyophilization theory and practice.

The company offers tailor made consultancy services covering all aspects of the lyophilization process and has delivered services in the fields of small molecules, vaccines, diagnostics, peptides, antibodies, ADC’s , live organisms (attenuated and non-attenuated) probiotics, GMO’s, collagen scaffolds and medical devices and has delivered commercial development solutions in over 1600 products. Services cover:
· Thermal analysis and establishment of critical temperatures for lyophilization
· Cycle development
· Formulation development to cover choice of excipient, buffer etc
· Retrospective cycle and formulation audit and validation
· Scale up and machine transfer studies
· Cycle amendment for formulation, dosage or containment changes
· Quality by Design and other robustness studies
· Regulatory advice and expert witness support
· Small scale batch production for ADMET, tox and other test purposes
· Cycle optimisation for generic production and other purposes
· Troubleshooting
Their service range covers all stages of product development from proof of concept, product development, trialling and transfer to production.
Experience: My client seeks to recruit an experienced sales/manager who will build a free standing business promoting and selling their products and services in the US via a US subsidiary. Dependent on delivery, this position may carry US subsidiary directorship. The US Sales Manager will provide business devolpment for lyophilization products and services, often working/traveling with sales reps from an established US based partner, who is a manufacturer in a similar space.

Initially working on his or her own, they are looking to reinforce success with the addition of junior salespersons, and in time and when results justify, a sales support function.
We are looking for an individual who has a sucessful track record in equipment sales, a technical background that can relate to the technology, and the desire to build and manage a business from the ground up. If this is something that might interest you, let's talk.
